Volunteers are an essential component at SVAS—without them, many of our programs would not exist. There are many areas in which you can get involved:
- driving for field trips/activities
- listening to students read
- assisting teachers in the classroom
- helping with holiday parties
- Home and School, etc.
Teachers at SVAS are always happy to have parent volunteers! Please talk to your child’s teacher to find out how you can get involved! All volunteers and staff are required to complete “Sterling Volunteers” training to better protect our students. Names must also be cleared by our employer, Upper Columbia Conference, prior to approval. All volunteers must read and agree to abide by the SDA NAD Code of Conduct and Volunteer Guidelines, which serves as a protection to our school and church from allegations of abuse.

- Go to www.uccsda.org
- Click on “Departments”
- Select “Education”
- Scroll down the page and click on “Adventist Screening Verification”
- Once registered and logged into the site, select Washington state
- On the next screen, select “Upper Columbia Conference”
- Then continue to follow the directions as they come up.
